PenePlater Platform CPT System
The main feature of the PenePlater is that the penetration equipment is mounted on a fixed platform, and the probe rod needs to pass through the water layer from the platform deck before penetrating into the seabed soil during the CPT operation. The datum for the CPT can be taken from either the platform or the seabed surface, and the datum is unique after it has been established.

PenePlater Platform CPT System
The main feature of the PenePlater is that the penetration equipment is mounted on a fixed platform, and the probe rod needs to pass through the water layer from the platform deck before penetrating into the seabed soil during the CPT operation. The datum for the CPT can be taken from either the platform or the seabed surface, and the datum is unique after it has been established.
The advantage of the PenePlater is that the penetration equipment is not installed in the water, so it can be operated in full accordance with the onshore CPT mode. However, due to the lack of radial constraints on the rod, when the distance between the platform surface and the seabed surface is too large, it is necessary to install a casing between the platform and the seabed to eliminate the bending deformation of the rod. Therefore, the PenePlater is generally suitable for shallow waters and rivers.
