Wave Velocity Cone
The wave velocity test is one of the main means of geotechnical engineering investigation for seismic effects on engineering sites and foundations. By measuring the shear wave velocity, the shear modulus of the soil can be calculated, which in turn can be used to classify the type, category, and dynamic parameters of the foundation soil and provide a basis for the analysis of the seismic response of the site.

Test Parameter: Longitudinal and transverse wave propagation velocities. The installation of the cone in the three-component geophone helps obtain X, Y, Z, one longitudinal and two transverse acoustic wave propagation velocities.

Note: It can be used alone or in combination with conventional CPT cones; longitudinal and transverse wave excitation and data acquisition devices need to be configured separately.
