CPT Survey for China Huaneng Guanyun Offshore Wind Farm
The project was located in the sea area of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. The site was about 7.3km wide from north to south, 8.5km long from east to west, and the center of the site was about 12km away from the coast. The whole site covered an area of about 62km², the actual area of the offshore wind turbine layout was about 45km², and the water depth was about 8~15m. The seafloor formation in the construction area was particularly dense and thick, and the weather during the operation period was unusually harsh. Our service team has overcome the impact of strong cold air on-site, and completed the operation within 47 days.

On-site CPTu for Offshore Wind Power Project in Dafeng
In Dafeng offshore wind farm, according to the in-situ testing requirements of the Danish design company, the penetration depth of 75m is successfully reached. It is Peneson’s first successful application of the four-bridge CPTu cone with inclination meter. It is also the deepest penetration record in China at that time made by seabed CPT equipment. And later this record has been broken by Peneson again in a project with penetration depth of 80m by seabed CPT.

Geological Survey of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Cross-sea Transportation Project
Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge is an important cross-sea highway connecting Shenzhen and Zhongshan with a total length of about 24 kilometers, which is a world-class super-large “bridge, island, and tunnel connected underground” cluster project, and a major transportation infrastructure project identified in the Outline of the Pearl River Delta Planning. We utilized the Peneson heavy-duty seabed CPT equipment to complete the submarine foundation geological survey of the East Artificial Island and the West Artificial Island of the SZB. It is also the first application of our 200kN heavy-duty seabed CPT equipment.

Underwater CPT Investigation for Shanghai-Nantong Railway Yangtze River Bridge
Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge No.28 open caisson foundation is 86.9 meters long, 58.7 meters wide, and 105 meters high, with a total area of 5151 square meters and a total weight of 300,000 tons, which is equivalent to the size of 12 basketball courts and the height of a 35-story building. It is the world’s largest open caisson foundation for dual purposes. Our company has completed the geological investigation with our CPT equipment, with the deepest water level of the testing point deeper than 100m. The data acquired has accurately derived the soil stratification and related mechanical parameters of the corresponding position. The equipment itself, the construction process and the submission of the data report have been highly affirmed by the client company.

CPTu Survey for Dalian Bay Cross-Sea Transportation Project
Dalian Bay Cross-Sea Transportation Project crosses Dalian Bay on the side of the Yellow Sea, connecting the core area of Dalian City and Jinzhou New District, and the Dalian Bay Submarine Tunnel is the controlling project of the cross-sea transportation project. Dalian Bay cross-sea transportation project is another cross-sea transportation project with complicated technical conditions, extreme environmental protection requirements, and high standard of construction requirements in China’s transportation construction history after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. PeneVector-IIB (5t) seabed CPT equipment has been operated in this project.

The project includes the construction of three new substations in Nanjing, Taizhou, and Suzhou, and the expansion of two substations in Huainan and Shanghai West, with a transformer capacity of 12 million kVA, 2×779.5 km of new transmission lines, and an approved static investment of 26.11 billion yuan. The weight of a single Su-Tong Yangtze River Transmission Tower and the amount of foundation concrete both rank top around the world. And it’s China’s fourth AC UHV project built after the Jindong South-Nanyang-Jingmen, Huainan-Zhejiang North-Shanghai, and Zhejiang North-Fuzhou projects. Peneson has completed the geological investigation with the average water depth of 5.2m and average penetration depth 24m, On September 13th, 2015, Science and Technology Daily reported this event with the title “Chinese offshore CPT system has been successfully applied”.
